Our basic Clan O'Brien tent and yes, I am wearing a traditional, solid color Irish kilt. I chose the Saffron color. Traditionally, the Irish wore solid colored kilts. Any color available was worn. Plaid tartans were also available in Ireland but usually only the more affluent could afford them.

Books and information for all Irish.

1.  The basic tent is a fold up frame with top (10'x10').  These tents cost between $79.00 - $199.00 and will vary depending where you are located and the style you prefer.   Most festivals allow only 10'x10' tents.  Some allow larger.
2.  The Clan O'Brien banner on the tent was purchased from a sign and banner shop for $90.00 plus shipping.  The PVC frame holding up the tent is 1" PVC.  10 bungee cords to attach the banner to the frame.
3.  A standard table 60" long ($39.00).  Should have a cloth for color and displaying information.  (Mine is red)  A 48" table is used in the rear of the tent for extra books, etc.
4.  The map stand is made of PVC pipes. ($11.00).  The map frame is a piece of 3/8" plywood with a 1" frame around the edge.  The maps should be laminated for durability.  Map is hung using 2 shower curtain hooks.

5.  Information items on the table should consist of a visitor sign in log, various Irish clan and family books for looking up information about all Irish families.  A handout of your Chapter Membership form and a copy of the O'Brien Clan Foundation pages.  These can be printed from the website and copied.  A binder with pages from the website would be handy also. Additional books about Clan O'Brien are available in the Clan Shop.

6.  I have one Ireland tri-color and Munster flag, one U.S. and California flag.  I also have an O'Brien Coat of Arms banner to display.
7.  A 'CLAN O'BRIEN' name badge (above) is very helpful.  People recognize you and know you are there to help them.
8.  Remember, we are representing The O'Brien and all O'Briens everywhere.  We are also there to help all Irish in the pursuit of their understanding their Irish heritage.  The O'Brien Clan works very close with other Irish Clans and Societies in helping all Irish everywhere learn about their heritage.
